David H Fussell (1949-1956)
A letter from David’s twin sister dated 24th November 2018
David was a pupil at QEH from 1949 - 1956. He followed in the footsteps of our father, Harold Fussell, who served as President of the Old Boys Society.
David left school and went to Birmingham University where he read English. After a spell teaching at Withywood Comprehensive School in Bristol, David went on to an academic career lecturing at Loughborough University in English and American literature.
Both my father and then David were proud to have been educated at QEH. It gave Harold great pleasure that David followed in his footsteps at QEH. David was a contemporary and friend of Tony Verity.
David is survived by his wife Dr Valerie Fussell and his children, Stephen and Jane.
With best wishes to the Society in its new form.
Dame Mary Tanner (nee Fussell)
