Memories and Messages of Condolence

Memories about OEs who we have sadly lost recently.
If you would like to leave a memory or a message about any of our OEs who have sadly passed away, then please either leave a comment on their obituary, or email jbailey@qehbristol.co.uk and I will collate them on this page.

Maurice Isaac and Tony Morris

I was sad to learn these two distinguished OEs had passed away. They were both 1954 entrants, two years after me. I had known them briefly because they were rugby players and although only in the 5th form( Year 11), they were members with me of a successful school 2ndXV in 1958-9 which won 10 games and only lost one, the last of the season and that by just one point. I think Tony was a back who could also play wing forward,Maurice was a hooker in the days when you did have to be skilful with a foot in the front row! Both were quick around the pitch. I met and spoke to each at different Old Boys Dinners. Both had been distinguished academically and had led interesting lives. Maurice told me various things about the U.S.A. and his travels; Tony spoke about his deep involvement with the Gordon League,  a well known and respected Gloucester rugby club . He was typically modest when he said ‘I’m just their bag man.’  QEH can be very proud of them.  Roger Gould.
