Six Old Elizabethans completed a mountaineering and hiking expedition around Saas-Fee Switzerland in July earlier this year.

The OEs, who left QEH in 2018, first began their expeditions together in school. As part of QEH Outdoor Pursuits, they completed the DofE and Ten Tors challenges together. Their bond over these testing, but enjoyable outdoor experiences has led them to continue meeting annually since they left QEH to embark on new adventures across the globe.

Two of the team, Chris and Felix, recently revisited QEH for the Outdoor Pursuits Awards Night. This was an evening of celebration for pupils who have that year completed any of the DofE challenges, Ten Tors, or attended Outdoor Pursuits trips. They shared pictures from pursuits trips from the previous year and commemorated significant achievements. Chris and Felix came along to the awards night to share the adventures that they have been up to beyond QEH and inspire our current pupils to think about the adventures that could be available to them in future years.

OE Chris Hyland shared his fantastic film with them on the night. You are able to watch it below by clicking the link to get a real insight into the expedition these OEs embarked on in July:

We look forward to seeing their next ‘Geobar expedition’ and seeing where these ex-QEH boys go to next.
