Remembrance 2021

10 Nov 2021
School News

On Thursday 11th November, the whole school gathered in The Yard to remember the sacrifice of the Armed Forces, and all those who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism.

Director of Development, James Bailey, also gave a whole school assembly speaking about the importance of Remembrance, and sharing the stories of some of our Old Elizabethans. You can watch the videos from the assembly below:

Whilst we remember those who died in the two World Wars, it's also important to remember those have died in conflicts since, and those who serve the country today.

The video below shows OE James Heappey speaking about the importance of Remembrance. James was at QEH between 1992-1999. He has been the Member of Parliament for Wells since 2015. He is currently a Minister for the Armed Forces in the Ministry of Defence. Before entering politics he was an officer in the British Army.

Matt Organ was at QEH between 2004-2011, and joined the Royal Navy in 2016. He now works as submariner, and is currently undergoing officer training. Watch him speak in the video below.
