OE Bristol Dinner at QEH

Our Annual Dinner returned to the calendar, after last year's cancellation.

Old Elizabethans, of all ages, were finally able to come together and reflect upon their days as pupils in the QEH Dining Hall.

Returning to Jacob's Wells Road sparked feelings of nostalgia for many and created lots of conversation around their shared and familiar history of their school days. Prior to the event, some OEs even embarked on a guided tour of the school.

Many OEs particularly appreciated the fact that the food was much better than it was during their time as a student here: The three course dinner served upon the evening was deemed much more flavoursome than the porridge they remembered eating here many years ago!

Discussions ranged from house pride, current careers, to what boarding was like… and of course the Rugby.

Despite attending QEH as a pupil in different decades, each OE felt a shared bond between one another and revelled in sharing their childhood stories. The OEs were equally pleased to hear from current QEH pupils too as they listened to speeches from Captains of School Benji Wagstaffe and Iso Wright about their experiences in the Sixth Form today. OEs were also able to share tables with other school prefects too.

It is a great shame that Covid-19 forced our Dinner to be cancelled last year, however we are so grateful that it was able to finally go ahead this time.

Thank you to the many OEs who attended and made this year’s Bristol Dinner such a remarkable evening. We hope to see you again soon.

If you were unable to attend on this occasion, we hope to see you at the next Dinner!
