School News

Congratulations to our new OEs who received their A-level results today! In spite of all the difficulties brought about by Covid - including the cancellation of the exams - the school is celebrating 80% of grades awarded at A*-B for the fifth year in a row.

Headmaster Rupert Heathcote said: “This has been a hugely challenging and unusual time, and our staff and students have overcome the hurdles admirably.    These results demonstrate how hard our pupils have been studying throughout the last two years, and it is this hard work that provided the evidence needed by our staff and external exam boards to award these excellent grades.”

“I would like to pay tribute to the huge amount of work undertaken by our fantastic staff to continue providing stimulating and engaging classes throughout last term, and the way the whole school community adapted to the necessary changes.  I am very proud of what we have achieved together this year.”

The vast majority of QEH leavers will be taking up their places at university, including top Russell Group universities, to study courses ranging from Fine Art to Engineering.  Jonathan Lee, who achieved A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Advanced Physics and Chemistry, will be taking up his place to study Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge.  School Captain Sylvie Livingstone, who was awarded A* grades in Art and Design, History and Religious Studies, will be moving to Italy to study Fine Art at the Florence Classical Art Academy, having gained a place on their prestigious one year course.
