OE Alex Davis, a 2021 Olympian and 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, is now the captain of Englands' Rugby sevens.
The team participated in their first matches of Pool A group stages in Malaga. They played against Fiji, Scotland, and South Africa in January. They secured a win against Fiji and Scotland but lost to South Africa. These successes secured them a Bronze medal!
Alex has been playing Rugby since he was six years old and has continued to progress in the sport ever since. Alongside his sporting career, Alex has also become a mental health ambassador and has spoken about men's mental health. He wants to break down stereotypes that men feel pressured to fulfil, and wants to help build mental resilience in sport. Alex recognises that mental health is as important as physical health.
We look forward to seeing Alex continue to perform as captain of the Englands' Rugby Sevens.
